A ReAwakening?

Some of you know that I went through a pretty difficult breakup back in December 2006. We had been together for 4 years, and I really thought that "this was it." Turns out - he wasn't really able to handle my rabbi-ness, and I was continually apologizing for keeping him waiting all the time that I was at my job (how cruel of me to have my own life....).... So, the past few months have allowed me to heal, to rebuild my self-image, and to feel more and more proud of who I am. In this process, I have had no interest in dating anyone new.

Anywho, all the sudden, I have felt a change.

Suddenly, I feel ready to embark on the dating road. I'm not entirely sure what that means, but it is exciting to be entertaining the idea of meeting someone new. Yeah, it's quite a scary proposition (oy, the perils of dating), but I am ready to go back out there. I think that I am THAT MUCH more sure of who I am (though self-awareness is always a work-in-progress), and thus, that much more ready to be myself WITH someone else.

Kinda cool, eh?

Any words of wisdom from all of my blog-friends?

You go, girl!

Just so you know -- I met MrZ via the personals column. Not that you should or shouldn't try that. Just saying, sometimes it ... works!

Much luck to you on the adventure!

This is good news!

I met my hubby online. (Of course!)

Advice?

Be yourself.

Go for it. Sounds like you've already done the most important stuff-- enjoying your own company, working to be self-aware, and liking who you are. Everything else is just icing.

Good luck!

I have no advice, I have been out of the game WAY too long...but I will say enjoy it...life is precious and each day is an adventure...

(Camp reference) Maybe look for someone who can make you a friendship bracelet...remember those??? :)

Hi Marci!
The only advice I have for you is to be patient. When I finally met Tom, I thought I had met every Jewish guy in the entire city of Chicago (and suburbs!) and was totally frustrated that I couldn't find someone I clicked with. In my case, I was lucky to have my brother and his wife's cousin's girlfriend get involved and set us up. :o) I guess that's another piece of advice- don't be afraid to let people set you up!

I was so happy that you found Bradley's blog, and that in turn I found yours! Nice to be in touch again.

Good luck!!!!
