I don't know about you, but I have had so much fun catching up on movie watching over the past few days. My sister had one of her wisdom teeth pulled, so we had a quiet Thanksgiving weekend. I watched plenty of old favorites, and I also had a chance to view some newer movies. What I should really do is go to the movie theater.... but, thanks to good-old cable tv, I have had plenty of choices at home. Such as:
- Mystic River (never saw this one before - how intense!!)
- Happy Feet (can't get enough)
- Hedwig and the Angry Inch (one of my most favorites)
- Legally Blonde (probably know this one by heart)
- 10 Things I Hate About You (so cute!)
- Big Daddy (Adam Sandler cracks me up)
- March of the Penguins (wonderful, heartbreaking, breathtaking)
- Pursuit of Happyness (hadn't seen it, a little disappointed)
- Big Fish (wow - how moving)
- Volver
- The Queen
- Blood Diamonds
- The Libertine
Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that you had a chance to celebrate the blessings in your lives. I am off to do something Thanksgiving weekend shopping. Have a great day!

Happy Holidays, Marci!
Many thanks for the lovely birthday wishes!!
Linda
Happy Thanksgiving my dear...looking forward to seeing you tomorrow :-)
"The Queen" is an absolute must. Even though these days it seems you play a queen, you win an Academy Award, Helen Mirren certainly deserved hers. It's pretty scary how a good hair and makeup team can transform a strikingly gorgeous woman like Dame Helen into the dowdy monarch we all know as Queen Elizabeth II.
volver was good! i think you'd like it.
blood diamond was very good but very intense and upsetting. the previews made it seem more like an action movie, but it's way more political than that.
happy thanksgiving weekend! did i mention that i miss you?!
i haven't seen *any* of those upcoming on-demand movies which i think is indicative of how little i get out:-) thank goodness for netflix!
i'm not going to the ccar (my husband might be) but i'm going to biennial. you?
I just saw a movie I loved called in the Land of Women strange and unrated- but good..sk a sleeper. Good luck on your decision - its been 50-50 for mre - I know I'm no help.He will guide you
It sounds like you had a peaceful Thanksgiving. I'm generally out of the loop on movies, but 10 Things I Hate About You is one of my favorites. And I thought Mystic River was amazing.
March of The Penguins and Big Fish - great movies!!!!
Happy Holidays!
You have some good movies on the list. I watched Big Daddy recently, too and Big Fish is one of my faves. I also can quote Leaglly Blonde and Ten Things I Hate About You.
I also thought the Pursuit of Happyness was a let down.
Blood Diamond was good, I will agree with Jessica--it is hard to watch.
